I like doing certain memes...
...mostly to show what crap certain generalizations are:

RULES:
• Pick your birth month.
• Strike out anything that doesn't apply to you.
• Bold (or italicize) the five-ten that best apply to you.

OCTOBER: Loves to chat. Loves those who loves them. Loves to take things at the center. Inner and physical beauty. Lies but doesn't pretend. Gets angry often. Treats friends importantly. Always making friends. Easily hurt but recovers easily. Daydreamer. Opinionated. Does not care of what others think. ~~Emotional.~~ Decisive. ~~Strong clairvoyance.~~ Loves to travel, the arts and literature. ~~Touchy and easily jealous. Concerned. Loves outdoors. Just and fair. Spendthrift. Easily influenced. Easily loses confidence. Loves children.~~

Do some of these seem contradictory to you (aside from the incomprehensible ones, like "take things at the center" - WTF? or "concerned" - with what?)? It's easy to say "see, it's accurate" when you cover the whole damn' spectrum and only look at the hits.

Not to mention all the guff that's true of everybody.

"Loves those who loves them."
"Treats friends importantly"
"Emotional"

And the stuff that's flat-out contradictory.

"Easily influenced" vs "Opinionated. Does not care of what others think"

The general illiteracy of the phrasing just bears out the overall impression of a total absence of thought.

And yet, even in this day and age, there are still people out there who believe this utter bullshit.

	I admit I kind of like being a person who can actually admit that I'm not "fair" or "kind" or whatever. ;-) The assumption, of course, is everyone's going to say of themselves "basically a nice person, kind to old people and children, blah blah ..." and voila!
