So

I've finally started what I've been planning for some time now: posting to [info]wip_rip , a community I created so I (and anyone else who wanted to) could post abandoned stuff for others to do whatever they want to. One WIP's there, others will follow. If you're curious, check it out. Please read the community rules, but it comes down to this: you can do whatever you want with the stuff I post, but please post, or link, what you do back to that comm, so I can see what you did and so credit's given where it's due.

I doubt I'd ever pick up anything of yours to try to continue but I'm really curious to read the fics you've decided not to finish. *is a bit of a stalker*

I dread to ask, but do you think you've pretty much shot your load (could I possibly be more crass?-I think not) as far as writing Snarry goes?

*g* I actually have two stories that I'd like to try to finish, but yeah, after that, I think so. One just gets a feeling. And I think it'd be fun to see if someone else might want to take some nugget I've done and have their way with it. :-)

I have no doubt. And yet, it's sad to see so many great authors leaving one at a time. But there isn't much left to say, particularly if you like to stick close to canon. And for you especially that does first time fic so well.

And not to do a postmortem on your writing just yet but let me finish with an entirely genuine but rather sycophantic sounding comment-as you know things are a bit messy in my RL and I was planning to ask my flist sometime for their favorite comfort fics. Not necessarily hurt/comfort as a genre but fics they found comforting, that made them happy or they knew they would always enjoy no matter how many times they'd read them. Anyway, I once again found myself at your webpage. :) I know Quid Pro Quo is very popular and I do love it, but for some reason Beech Hall is the one I can never get enough of. So that would be the one fic of yours I would say stays with me always. Thank you.

Thank you for those very kind words. It's the one thing, external to writing itself, that is so enriching about writing - to hear even one person say "you really made my hour/day/whatever." As with many others, I write because I can't not write (even if I can't find much to say about Snape and Harry any more *g*), and I'd write even if no one ever read, or said anything about, my stuff ever again. But the feeling one gets to hear that something one has done has had a genuinely positive (however transitory or, relatively, minor - this is fic, after all) effect on someone else is a very satisfying, and humbling, feeling (humbling, I think, because you don't quite know how you did this good thing). I know how I feel after I've read a good fic - like I've been given a gift. If you (or others) feel like that after reading anything of mine, that's about the highest praise I can imagine.

So, again, what you said means a lot to me. Thanks again.

*G* You're welcome. I don't know if others will want to share their wips there, but anyone who wants to play, in whatever capacity, is welcome to.
